Skylark

Savannah, GA
Type VA over IA - Mixed Use Apartments

This mixed-use apartment project was built on one of the last remaining empty lots in Savannah’s Historic District and is an anchor for redevelopment within the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Montgomery Street Corridor.

Consisting of 62 apartments on top of a cast-in-place concrete podium over ground level tuck under parking, Skylark was designed within the strict guidelines of the National Historic Landmark District.

Its name is derived from a song of the same moniker by jazz legend and native Savannahian, Johnny Mercer. The interior features numerous musical motifs throughout its public spaces and each dwelling unit is fully integrated with the latest in luxury living and smart technologies. Amenities include a fitness center and club room with outdoor terrace overlooking the city and Savannah River bridge.

Three ground floor retail spaces will house a future restaurant, office space and an art gallery.

Completed while employed by Smith Dalia Architects as Project Architect, project manager and lead designer.
