Wayfarer Music Hall

Monroe, GA
Adaptive Use & Historic Preservation

The historic building was first used as a livery stable and was set to be demolished before being purchased by a forward thinking client. Most recently it was used as a storage facility for a local furniture store and had fallen into a state of extreme disrepair. The structure required major rehabilitation for conversion into an event space, music hall, outdoor courtyard and tenant shell space. Community Development Block Grants and historic preservation tax incentives were used to fund the rehabilitation.

The building’s owners are committed to sustainability and incorporated recycled, renewable and local materials where possible. Additionally, a small rooftop garden was installed next to a large solar panel array which allows the building to operate in a net-zero efficiency.
